Serenity Smith Forchion

Serenity Smith Forchion is an aerial dancer, artistic alchemist, tree dancer, circus arts educator, teacher trainer, mom and twin! She and her twin sister, Elsie Smith, are award winning aerialists and co-founders of NECCA. Serenity’s resume includes Cirque du Soleil, Ringling Bros and Barnum and Bailey, Special Award at Wuqiao Festival, Vermont Governor’s Award for Excellence in the Arts, and American Circus Educators Award for Excellence in Education. She is a co-founder of the American Circus Alliance and her students grace the stages of the world including Circa, 7 Fingers, Soap, Pippin, AIDA, Savannah Bananas, and Cirque du Soleil.

Serenity’s expertise brings detailed concepts of technique to each student focusing on fundamental body awareness in order to expand the student’s capacity to explore new movements and accomplish higher level skills and creativity.

Elsie & Serenity also run their award winning production company, Nimble Arts, performing aerials and leading act creation, aerial teacher training, and tree dancing workshops from their LakeSide Studio. Serenity hopes to inspire the current and next generations of circus performers and teachers with authenticity and grace and embraces her coaching work at NECCA alongside her role as Producing Dircector for the organization.
