Developing Roaming Characters

Join us for an introduction to interactive character work! We’ll discuss character creation and use a variety of theater techniques to help you get comfortable interacting with an audience.

This class will focus on ‘roaming’ character work rather than on-stage performances. Roaming work a great addition to any professional artist’s repertoire, and will help budding performers develop confidence in front of an audience.

About the Coach

Nicole Pisaniello (She/They) teaches Aerial Silks and Character Development at Host of Sparrows Aerial Circus in Richmond, VA. A former competitive gymnast, Nicole began her aerial journey in 2013. As a Host of Sparrows company member, she is a touring performer in MetaMORPHOsis, their show with the Virginia Commission of the Arts.

She performs on silks and lyra in addition to designing costumes and make-up for shows. Nicole is no stranger to theater and character performance, and she loves to combine her knowledge and skills to inspire creativity in her students.
