Chelsea graduated from NECCA’s Intensive Professional Training Program in 2017. She began her circus career in 2008, leading from a multidisciplinary background in ballet, modern dance, theater, sewing and music theory. Aerial fabric is her first love and highly skilled specialty, though she is a well rounded aerialist, performing on rope, trapeze, cloud swing, sling and spanish web. As a singer- songwriter, pianist and multi-instrumentalist, Chelsea loves to collaborate with musicians to combine music and circus arts.
Wearing many hats, Chelsea spent 8 years managing her own business teaching circus arts in Bellingham, WA and directed all aspects of an all volunteer, monthly variety show, Vaudevillingham, for 6 years. Her teaching experience includes summer camps at Thrive Movement Studio (Harwinton, CT)., Upriver Yoga (Rockport WA), The Aviary/ Airbound Underground (Olympia WA), Arcadia Seattle, multiple locations in Bellingham, WA and volunteer work at The Island & St. Mary Redcliffe Secondary School in Bristol, UK. Chelsea has performed with The Tall House Arts Consortium, The Bellingham Circus Guild, Lookout Arts Quarry, New Old Time Chautauqua, The Beery House Shows and with musicians such as, The Corpus Callosum, Jason Webley and Andrew Bemis. Festival season finds her at The Subdued Stringband Jamboree, Summer Meltdown, Sh’Bang, Circus on the Water, Circus Campout, Happy Little Farms Show, Anacortes Arts Festival and more. Chelsea has completed Intro through Intermediate level teacher training, injury prevention and aerial rigging courses with New England Center for Circus Arts & Nimble Arts (VT), Versatile Arts (Seattle) and My Aerial Home (London UK).
