Two bodies moving through space can be compelling, but it brings its own challenges of technique and timing. Join us to explore a sampling of creative choreography for duo trapezists. We’ll look at interesting twists and turns with flow in and out of skills, with a focus on the magic we can develop in the transitions.

About the Coach

Rabun and James Neves, now both Senior teachers and Canopy Studio Repertory Company Members, first met over a trapeze when James signed up to take his first class at Canopy Studio in 2009. However, it wasn’t until 2015 when James joined the performance company that they teamed up to create their first duo trapeze piece together.

Since then, they have put out numerous duo pieces on all kinds of apparatuses. James eventually proposed to Rabun on their favorite apparatus, the circus trapeze. Together they have trained at Canopy Studio, Frequent Flyers, San Diego Circus Center, NECCA, and with coach Marie Christine Fournier.

Rabun and James love teaching all types of students to find their aerial self expression through play, strength building, progressions, and learning new ways to overcome challenges together.
