Intro to Tight Wire

With Ariele Ebacher

We know that life can be a balancing act, so why not train accordingly? The classic tightwire act is a part of any circus and those that train on this daring apparatus naturally develop their focus, balance, agility and grace.

We will start on wires that are low to the ground for easy access and spotting.

About the Coach

Ariele Ebacher came to circus from the worlds of dance and theatre at age 21. She learned the art of wire dancing while on tour with Circus Smirkus, and then moved to Chicago to work for The Midnight Circus. She has traveled the world working in traditional, theatrical, and contemporary circus.

Some of the companies she has worked for include Midnight Circus, The Bindlestiff Family Cirkus, Zoppe Circus, NoFit State Circus, Circus Flora, Flynn Creek Circus, Cirque Mechanics, and most recently Big Apple Circus. In addition to her work as a performing circus artist, Ariele has coached tightwire and other circus skills in circus schools around the country.

She has coached both the camp and tour at Circus Smirkus. In Chicago she taught young people at Circesteem and adults at Aloft Circus Arts. She has also taught workshops at the San Francisco Circus Center, Madison Circus Guild, and here at NECCA. She takes great pleasure in sharing her knowledge, experience, and passion for tightwire with others.
