One arm handstands are an impressive, advanced handstand skill that may feel impossible to approach. Once you’re comfortable with static holds, shape changes, and presses, it’s common to get one arm curious!

Come learn clear progressions and entertaining games for approaching one arm handstand.

Prerequisites:
Students should have a consistent, unspotted 45 second hand balance in basic shapes (straight, straddle, tuck).

About the Coach

Violet Defiant is a swinging trapeze phenom who moonlights as an innovative and unusual foot juggler, hand balancer, and lyric storyteller. While she spends most of her time flinging herself off the swinging trapeze, hand balancing is her longest practice.

After graduating from NECCA’s ProTrack in 2022, she toured Goodbye Party the Show! with Big Teeth Performance Collective, and has performed for Artpark New York, HUP State Circus Festival, Nimble Arts, Theater Bizarre, the Ann Arbor Summer Festival, and more!
