Loopy Lyra – Spanset & Spinning

With Maia Castro-Santos

Let’s do a deep dive into the intricacies of spanset sequences and spinning techniques on lyra! We’ll explore skills and sequences using the spanset at the top of the hoop, which can be pulled to create a loop—opening up a whole new world of shapes.

We’ll start with technical fundamentals of working within the spanset, then build off those with guided sequencing. We’ll finish with time dedicated to individual exploration and creative material development.

Because spanset work is most effective done spinning, and we will also spend a portion of the workshop focusing on lasso and general spin technique.
