Intro to Aerial Pole

If you’re curious to try aerial pole, and have experience in Chinese or dance pole, this workshop is for you! Aerial pole is a beautiful, challenging, and dynamic apparatus.

In this workshop, we’ll start by covering a variety of climbs and skills; we’ll discuss the similarities and differences between a grounded and aerial pole; and we’ll explore how to utilize the unique movement quality of this apparatus by breaking down the techniques needed to spin, swing, and orbit.

What to Wear:
Students should bring layers including a long sleeve shirt and leggings and/or stretchy jeans.

About the Coach

Nicky Ly is a circus artist residing in Philadelphia and has been practicing pole for over 8 years. He specializes in flying pole but is also versed in other aerials and dance. As a coach he enjoys teaching students by breaking down the technical aspects of movement into easy to understand pieces. His movement is characterized by smooth transitions, fluid dynamics, and bendy tricks.
