Jana Cohen

Jana found circus at age 15, after her mother read a newspaper article about a local circus school. Without knowing what a “trapeze” was, she signed up for a class, and she hasn’t looked back. While flying trapeze was her gateway discipline, she’s now primarily an aerialist, with an additional passion for handbalancing and partner acro.

After graduating from American University with a Bachelor’s degree in mathematics, she jumped headfirst into full-time circus training. Jana completed her Certificate IV in Circus Arts at NICA in Melbourne, Australia in 2023, and is currently a ProTrack student at NECCA, majoring in aerial rope.

As a circus educator, Jana has an analytical streak and a tendency to geek out over technique, theory, and puzzles. Outside the circus tent, Jana also teaches students of all ages as a math tutor and homeschool instructor.
