Lissa Harris

Lissa Harris has extensive experience and a remarkable track record in fundraising and community engagement. With a career spanning over two decades, she has adeptly directed development efforts for a diverse range of organizations. Lissa’s expertise shines through her strategic leadership, consistently ensuring financial stability and growth.

Previously, as the Development Director at Food Connects, she conjured financial stability through strategic fundraising and storytelling. Lissa orchestrated campaigns, forged donor bonds, and spun grant narratives with finesse. As Executive Director at Strolling of the Heifers, she defied challenges, retaining sponsorships and propelling events beyond setbacks.

In New York, Lissa’s passion for mission-driven work led her to positions at national organizations, such as Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) and the American Cancer Society. Here, she worked to secure funding and support for critical missions that touched lives on a grand scale.

Lissa’s career journey encompasses fundraising, marketing, brand management, journalism, and as a veterinarian technician. Rooted in a degree in psychology from Hofstra University and fortified by Fundraising and Development certifications from Marlboro College, she blends vision with action in all her development activities.

Beyond her professional endeavors, Lissa’s commitment to fostering community growth and connection is reflected in her extensive volunteer portfolio, having served on school boards, non-profit boards, and community councils.
