ANTHONY OLIVIA

Anthony is fascinated, overjoyed, and nourished by the communication of bodies in motion. He has danced, climbed, and created all his life- and began blending his theatre training with circus arts in 2006. He has since studied and graduated from the NECCA ProTrack Program(2011Chinese Pole & Hoop Diving, 2014Hand to Hand), where he was then employed as an acrobatics instructor. In 2011, he began a three year contract working with Pilobolus Dance Theatre. Reconnecting with the circus community in 2014 brought Anthony to Montreal where he trained hand-to-hand and was a part of creating the show Tinder and Ash (TinderAndAsh.com) with 4 other graduates of the NECCA Protrack program. In 2017 he joined the team at TSNY-DC as a part of the fly staff and a coach in the acrobatic/aerial program. Anthony has trained and worked as a performer, instructor, and rigger across the U.S. and internationally, from Anchorage to Miami, Montreal to Macedonia, and is excited to reconnect with the NECCA community.

“NECCA is an unbelievably fantastic resource that has given my daughter strength, confidence, agility, artistry, and a close family of like-minded souls. Not sure where she would have found her place if not for NECCA.”

“This [NECCA] is a good business plan. This creates jobs, economic development, opportunity, but most importantly, it changes kids’ lives.”

Peter ShumlinVermont Governor

“The kids had a total blast. . .we really appreciate NECCA reaching out to us so that we can all work together to serve our kids better. They were so centered, and grounded, and ready to get back to academics when they came back to school – and that’s exactly what we had hoped for them!”

“I have not felt this beautiful since my surgery. Just as cancer teaches you that you can live through stresses you never imagined, this program teaches you that your body can fly and do things you never imagined.”
