About this Immersion

In this workshop, Chelsea will share her love obsession with aerial fabric through the exploration of crafty pathways and sequences. Utilizing slack-drags, kick-wraps, hip-hops and fabric theory concepts, we’ll find artful transitions into drops, rotations, interesting wraps, and shapes—featuring fabric challenges called XOXO’s and Hip Key to my Heart. In XOXO’s, we will focus on split-fabric sequences leading to uncommon ways to put on X’s, Infinity (or Finite) Rolls, and more sneaky surprises! Hip Key to My Heart will delve into hip key theory patterns that are sure to unlock your passion for fabric, with optional spinning sequences.

ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR

Chelsea began her circus career in 2008, leading from a multidisciplinary background in ballet, modern dance, theater, sewing, and music theory. Aerial fabric is her first love, though she also performs on rope, trapeze, cloud swing, sling, and spanish web. As a singer-songwriter, pianist, and multi-instrumentalist, Chelsea loves to collaborate with musicians to combine music and circus arts. Wearing many hats, Chelsea spent eight years managing her own business teaching circus arts in Bellingham, WA, and now maked NECCA (VT) her circus home. Her teaching and performing experience has taken her across the US and the UK. Chelsea has completed intro- through intermediate-level teacher training, injury prevention, and aerial rigging courses with New England Center for Circus Arts, Nimble Arts (VT), Versatile Arts (Seattle) and My Aerial Home (London UK).
