About This Clinic
Learn the building block of trapeze—the tempo—which combines precise timing and powerful swing beat technique to create awe-inspiring skills. Students will learn tempo technique from knees, ankles, and hands, as well as drills that make the “magic” of swinging trapeze possible.

Prerequisites:
Students must have taken at least one session of Swinging Trapeze 115 or 201. Students must be able to beat from knee hang, ankle hang, and hands. Bring trapeze boots or borrow ours.

About The Coach
Violet Defiant Livingston // creator, writer, performer, educator // swinging trapezist, hand balancer, static trapezist, partner acrobat, object manipulator. Violet is a multidisciplinary circus artist, specializing in acrobatic and lyric storytelling. She graduated from NECCA’s ProTrack program in 2022, and has been creating and touring with the queer, rural circus collective Big Teeth Performance Collective since. In Goodbye Party The Show, Violet uses her technique as a foot juggler and trapeze artist to tell stories about climate catastrophe with grit and heart.
